The harness racing industry is once again growing in Saskatchewan. There has been a significant increase in the horse population, attendance and wager at Saskatchewan Racetracks. The Saskatchewan Standardbred Horsemen’s Association (SSHA) has also shown steady growth in the last 5 years.

There is a need here for a permanent harness racing facility.  Growth is evident and a place is needed that is dedicated to fostering that growth, open for stabling/training all year long where the top priority, the only priority is Harness Racing. West Meadows Raceway is that place.

A half mile race track will be located just outside the city limits of Regina, only 2 miles west of Regina International Airport.
Regina, the province's capital, has a greater area population of over 200,000, is home to the CFL Champion Saskatchewan Roughriders and a rich harness racing history dating back over 100 years.
